The Digital Shakti Initiative: Educating and Empowering Women in Technology The National Commision for Women (NCW) launched Digital Shakti 4.0 in June 2018 to assist women all throughout India in increasing their digital literacy. CyberPeace Foundation and Meta work together to implement the programme. The mission of Digital Shakti is to advance gender equality by 1. Informing the public about the need of protecting their personal information online 2. Instruction in the use of digital technologies, including computers, the web, social media, and electronic banking 3. Enhancing women's and girls' ability to use technology for social and economic advancement 4. Courses can be taken online or in person, and there are also opportunities for outreach to the local community as part of this initiative.
